Famous Supply in Akron, OH seeks an experienced Sourcing Manager to identify, evaluate, and manage domestic and international suppliers for plumbing and HVAC products, parts, and materials, ensuring quality, cost efficiency, and supply continuity.
Responsibilities include onboarding new suppliers, negotiating terms, monitoring performance, and collaborating with engineering to meet technical specs and codes. Travel may be required.
We are seeking an experienced Sourcingmembertoidentify, evaluate, and manage relationships with domestic and international suppliers of plumbing,HVAC, buildingproductsand components. The ideal candidate combines strong sourcing and negotiation skills with hands-on product knowledge of plumbing and HVAC systems, and can navigate global supply chains while ensuring quality, compliance, and cost-effectiveness
Identify, vet,and onboard domestic and international suppliers forplumbingandHVACproducts, parts,andmaterials.
Drivesourcinginitiativesin alignment withglobalsales and operationalstrategy.
Coordinate andmanage projects acrosscross functionalteams.
Negotiate pricing, payment terms, MOQs, and contracts to secure favorable and sustainable agreements.
Evaluate supplier capabilities,certifications, and quality systems against plumbing and HVAC industry standards (e.g., ASME, UL, ASHRAE, NSF, FM, ETL).
Monitor global market trends, commodity pricing, and geopolitical factors affectingsupplyof new and existing products.
Participate withimport/exportlogisticscoordination with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and compliance teams.
Collaborate with engineering and product teams to source components,meeting technical specifications and code requirements.
Develop andmaintaina diversified supplier base to mitigate single-source risk and supply chain disruptions.
Assistin trackingsupplier performance metrics (on-time delivery, defect rates, responsiveness) and lead corrective action when needed.
Maintainaccuratesourcing records, cost analyses, and supplier scorecards.
Participate& leadmeetings and calls within and outside of standard business hours.
Travel abroad asrequiredto develop& maintainnew and existing key product & supplier relationships.
3+ years of experience in sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management.
Demonstratedexperiencesourcing plumbing and/or HVAC products, components, or materials.
Basic working knowledge of plumbing and HVAC systems, terminology, and industry standards/certifications.
Proven experience managing both domestic and international supplier relationships.
Strong negotiationand cost-analysis skills.
Familiarity with import/export regulationsand internationallogistics.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work across time zones and cultures.
Proficiencywith ERP/procurement software and Microsoft Excel.
Bachelor'sdegree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or related field.
