Job summary

MARSHALLTOWN in Fayetteville, AR is seeking a Sourcing Engineer to lead supplier development, cost reduction, and process improvements in our supply chain.

The role will collaborate with product development, manufacturing, and finance teams, manage supplier quality tracking, and ensure timely delivery while optimizing inventory and ERP processes. Some domestic and international travel (<20%) is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
• Related sourcing experience in materials, components, and services.
• Experience with steel, aluminum, wood and/or plastics manufacturing preferred.
• Strong problem solving and project management in operations or supply chain.

Responsibilities

Job Details: Job Location: Fayetteville Arkansas - Fayetteville, AR 72701, Position Type: Full Time, MARSHALLTOWN, the leading manufacturer and distributor of construction tools is seeking a Sourcing Engineer for our Fayetteville, Arkansas facility.

This is not a remote work position. Some domestic and international travel will be required. (Less than 20%)

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Lead projects within the purchasing department including new supplier development, cost reduction, and process improvement
• Apply statistical knowledge to identify areas for improvement within manufacturing processes in supply chain
• New & existing product sourcing
• Maintain accurate project schedules and communicate any issues in a timely manner to management.
• Cost based comparative analysis (Make vs Buy, Buy vs. Buy analysis)
• Evaluate supplier capabilities with respect to our business demands
• Perform inventory analysis & ERP process management (Safety Stock levels, Order Frequency, Order Quantity’s, etc.)
• Work closely with the product development group to ensure new products are brought to production with adequate supply chain consideration
• Manage Supplier Quality Issue Tracking system in MARSHALLTOWN and follow vendor related issues from creation to closure
• Identify discrepancies in product specifications and work with vendors to correct any issues

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree required. Industrial or Mechanical Engineering preferred.
• Related sourcing experience acquiring materials, components, and services preferred.
• Experience with steel, aluminum, wood and/or plastics manufacturing processes preferred
• Demonstrated history of problem solving and project management experience in operations, manufacturing, or supply chain processes
• Business system (ERP/MRP) experience a plus
• Strong spreadsheet and database knowledge
• Strong verbal and written communication skills required
• Ability to consult and interact with suppliers and internal teams from product development, manufacturing, marketing, finance, and suppliers
