About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated Sourcing Engineer to serve as a critical bridge between Engineering and Procurement. This technical-commercial hybrid role plays a key part in new product development (NPD), strategic sourcing, cost optimization, and supplier quality management.
You’ll partner cross-functionally with Engineering, Operations, and suppliers to drive cost-effective, high-quality sourcing decisions while supporting innovation and product launches.
What You’ll Do
New Product Development & Sourcing
- Lead sourcing activities for NPD projects, ensuring materials and components meet technical, quality, and timing requirements
- Manage RFQs, conduct total cost analysis, and negotiate pricing, contracts, and terms
- Evaluate and onboard new suppliers, including risk assessment (financial, technical, capacity)
- Interpret engineering drawings, BOMs, and specifications to support sourcing feasibility
- Ensure compliance with Approved Vendor Lists and sourcing strategy
Value Analysis / Value Engineering (VA/VE)
- Identify cost reduction opportunities through design changes, material substitutions, or process improvements
- Collaborate with engineering and suppliers to develop innovative, lower-cost solutions
- Analyze pricing inconsistencies and implement improvements without impacting performance or quality
- Reduce sole-source risk through alternate sourcing strategies
Supplier Quality & Performance
- Analyze supplier non-conformance trends and drive root cause and corrective actions
- Act as a technical liaison between Engineering and suppliers
- Ensure long-term resolution of quality issues and supplier performance improvements
What You Bring
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or similar)
- 3–5 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, engineering, or supply chain within manufacturing environments
Key Skills & Experience
- Strong background in strategic sourcing, RFQs, and supplier negotiations
- Experience with VA/VE and cost optimization initiatives
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and BOMs
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, and supplier capabilities
- Proven ability to balance technical requirements with business goals
- Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
