Job summary

TE Connectivity is seeking a Sourcing De-Risking Project Manager to lead global sourcing risk mitigation and continuity projects within the Aerospace, Defense & Marine unit. You will coordinate with Category Managers, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure milestones, documentation, and escalation processes are in place.

The role requires coordinating with Engineering, Quality, Finance, Legal, Contracts, and Compliance to drive risk reduction and successful implementation, while reporting

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, operations, business, engineering, or related field.
  • 8+ years of related experience in Sourcing, Supply Chain, Operations, PM, Supplier Risk or Compliance.
  • Proven cross-functional project leadership in a large, global organization.
  • Strong strategic sourcing knowledge including RFQs, supplier evaluation, negotiations, and implementation.
  • Experience leading sourcing de-risking initiatives such as supplier transitions and dual sourcing.
  • Experience developing sourcing business cases including total cost, inventory impact, and risk.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and drive accountability across a global matrix org.
  • Strong project management with planning, risk management, and executive reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Lead global, cross-functional de-risking projects with defined scope and milestones.
  • Partner with Category Managers and Center Led Sourcing teams to execute strategy.
  • Lead sourcing risk mitigation and supplier remediation and continuity plans.
  • Coordinate supplier engagement, RFQs, and sourcing award recommendations for approval.
  • Develop business cases covering total cost, tooling, qualification, inventory, and cost avoidance.
  • Coordinate cross-functional execution while ensuring accountability for deliverables.
  • Own project planning, risks, decisions, and performance metrics.
  • Monitor, report, and escalate project status to leadership.
  • Provide dashboards and executive updates; maintain records through closure.
  • Coordinate Engineering and Quality activities related to qualification and approvals.
  • Coordinate Legal, Contracts, and Compliance requirements as needed.
  • Track outcomes and benefits including risk reduction and implementation status.
  • Drive accountability across a global matrix organization without direct authority.

Job Overview

The Aerospace, Defense & Marine (AD&M) Business Unit is seeking a Sourcing De-Risking Project Manager within the Business Strategy / Supply Chain Transformation Office. This global role leads complex, cross functional sourcing de risking and supply continuity projects from initial risk scoping and prioritization through sourcing execution, implementation, and closure. The role establishes clear project plans, drives stakeholder alignment, coordinates supplier and internal activities, and ensures risks, decisions, actions, and progress are actively managed and reported. Working closely with Category Managers and Center Led Sourcing teams, the role coordinates with suppliers and key stakeholders across Engineering, Operations, Quality, Finance, Legal, Contracts, and Compliance. The Sourcing De Risking Project Manager drives structured mitigation of supplier, capacity, geopolitical, cost, compliance, and continuity risks that could affect customer commitments, sourcing eligibility, operational performance, or business continuity, while ensuring sourcing recommendations are supported by sound commercial, financial, operational, and risk analysis.

Job Requirements
  • Lead global, cross functional de risking projects with clear scope, timelines, ownership, dependencies, milestones, and escalation paths.
  • Partner with Category Managers and Center Led Sourcing teams to execute projects aligned with category strategy and supplier relationships.
  • Lead sourcing risk mitigation including dual sourcing, resourcing, supplier transfers, alternate sources, capacity actions, supplier remediation, compliance mitigation, and continuity plans.
  • Coordinate supplier and commercial activities including supplier engagement, RFQs, commercial evaluation, negotiations, and sourcing award recommendations for approval.
  • Develop sourcing business cases covering total cost, piece price, tooling, qualification, inventory, transition costs, cost avoidance, and risk.
  • Coordinate cross functional project execution with suppliers and internal teams while functional owners retain responsibility for technical, quality, operational, compliance, and approval deliverables.
  • Own project planning and documentation including schedules, actions, risks, mitigation plans, decisions, approvals, and performance metrics.
  • Monitor, report, and escalate project status including constraints, resource gaps, unresolved decisions, supplier performance, and schedule risks.
  • Provide clear dashboards and executive updates and maintain accurate project records through closure.
  • Coordinate Engineering and Quality activities related to qualification, validation, customer or specification approvals, and implementation readiness.
  • Coordinate Legal, Contracts, and Compliance requirements including supplier agreements, regulatory obligations, and customer requirements.
  • Track project outcomes and benefits including risk reduction, continuity, alternate source readiness, cost impact, qualification progress, and implementation status.
  • Drive accountability through influence across a global matrix organization without direct authority.
Decision Responsibilities
  • Recommend sourcing awards and mitigation strategies for approval under established sourcing governance.
  • Coordinate supplier negotiations with the Category Manager and Center Led Sourcing team.
  • Ensure recommendations are supported by documented analysis covering commercial, operational, financial, continuity, compliance, and risk considerations.
  • Report implementation and qualification status while accountable functional teams execute their respective deliverables.
What your background should look like
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, operations, business, engineering, or a related field.
  • 8 years of related experience in Sourcing, Supply Chain, Operations, Project Management, Supplier Risk Management, or Compliance.
  • Proven cross functional project leadership in a large, global, matrix organization.
  • Strong strategic sourcing knowledge including RFQs, supplier evaluation, commercial analysis, negotiations, sourcing recommendations, agreements, and implementation.
  • Experience leading sourcing de risking initiatives such as supplier transitions, dual sourcing, resourcing, remediation, or continuity improvements.
  • Experience developing sourcing business cases including total cost, transition and qualification costs, inventory impact, cost avoidance, and risk.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and drive accountability across a global matrix organization without direct authority.
  • Strong project management capability including planning, risk and issue management, documentation, executive reporting, and escalation.
  • Experience working across manufacturing functions including Engineering, Quality, Finance, Legal, Contracts, Compliance, Supply Chain, and suppliers.
  • Working knowledge of sourcing compliance and regulatory requirements including ITAR, EAR, customer flow down requirements, and regulated supply chains where applicable.
  • Strong commercial, analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to communicate complex risk topics to senior leaders.
  • Aerospace & Defense experience is preferred.
  • PMP, CPSM, CIPS, or equivalent certification is preferred.
Role Scope
  • Global AD&M responsibility with cross functional and cross site project leadership.
  • Individual contributor role leading primarily through influence and cross functional coordination.
  • Approximately 20% travel for supplier, manufacturing site, and business stakeholder visits as required.

COMPENSATION
  • Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $111,700 - $167,500 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
  • Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
  • Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
