Job summary

Amca is seeking a procurement internship on-site in El Segundo, CA. You will support the full procurement cycle, manage open orders, and help vet suppliers across machining, PCBAs, electronics, testing, and assembly.

You’ll learn procurement, build planning, and supplier development by doing real work with real ownership, with opportunities to travel for supplier visits. No prior purchasing experience is required, and curiosity about how things are made is valued.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or graduate program related to supply chain management, industrial or mechanical engineering, or business.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage shifting orders and priorities.
• Curious about how things are made and able to read a BOM or engineering drawing.
• Direct communicator with suppliers, engineers, and technicians in a proactive way.

Responsibilities

• Support full procurement cycle: source, quote, negotiate, and issue POs for hardware and materials.
• Manage open orders end-to-end: track deliveries, update lead times, expedite at risk parts.
• Resolve PO discrepancies with receiving, suppliers, and engineering; close issues.
• Maintain ERP/MRP data: POs, lead times, pricing, vendor records, part statuses.
• Identify cost and lead time improvements across the supplier base.
• Plan material needs from BOMs and work orders for active and upcoming builds.
• Track parts through lifecycle from PO to build completion; surface shortages.
