Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, Business).
  • 3–7+ years of experience in supply chain, manufacturing, operations, procurement, or project management.
  • Experience in a cGMP-regulated environment (pharma/biotech/medical devices).
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional projects that deliver measurable improvements.
  • Strong analytical skills: root-cause analysis, data interpretation, scenario modeling.
  • Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and advanced Excel/data tools.
  • Excellent written/verbal communication and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution.

Responsibilities

  • Lead cross-functional supply chain projects from initiation to completion.
  • Own project timelines, deliverables, risk registers, stakeholder communications, executive reporting, and success metrics.
  • Develop ROI models, cost-benefit analyses, and project charters for improvements.
  • Translate operational challenges into actionable projects with KPIs and milestones.
  • Evaluate suppliers, assess supply risk, and support supplier qualification activities.
  • Lead supplier improvement initiatives focused on lead-time reduction and cost savings.
  • Partner with Quality to support supplier assessments and corrective actions.
  • Analyze production demand, capacity constraints, and material readiness.
  • Collaborate with Production to ensure materials for campaigns.
  • Provide supply chain leadership for tech transfers, new product introductions, and scale-up.
  • Align projects with cGMP requirements and FDA 503B outsourcing expectations.
  • Support audits and regulatory reviews with documentation and data.
  • Maintain project documentation per quality standards.
  • Facilitate communication across Supply Chain, QA/QC, Production, Engineering, Finance, IT, and leadership.
  • Create dashboards and executive summaries to communicate progress and risks.
  • Provide structured updates during tiered performance meetings.

We are seeking a Sourcing and Purchasing Manager to join an innovative online pharmacy organization. This role will strengthen supplier performance, material availability, inventory strategy, risk mitigation, and cost-to-serve efficiency while ensuring production readiness and cGMP compliance. The successful candidate will lead cross-functional projects across Procurement, Planning, Production, Engineering, Quality, Regulatory, Finance, and IT.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead medium- to large-scale supply chain projects from initiation through completion using structured project management methodologies.
  • Own project timelines, deliverables, risk registers, stakeholder communications, executive reporting, and success metrics.
  • Develop business cases, ROI models, cost-benefit analyses, and project charters for supply chain improvement initiatives.
  • Translate operational challenges into actionable projects with clear KPIs, milestones, and accountability.
  • Evaluate suppliers, diversify sources, assess supply risk, and support supplier qualification activities.
  • Lead supplier improvement initiatives focused on lead-time reduction, MOQ optimization, contract alignment, cost reduction, and performance improvement.
  • Partner with Quality to support supplier assessments, reduce nonconformances, and address corrective actions.
  • Analyze production demand, capacity constraints, material readiness, and changeover impacts to recommend strategic solutions.
  • Collaborate with Production Managers to ensure materials are available for upcoming manufacturing campaigns.
  • Provide supply chain project leadership for tech transfers, new product introductions, and scale-up initiatives.
  • Ensure supply chain projects align with cGMP requirements, FDA 503B outsourcing facility expectations, and internal quality management systems.
  • Support audits and regulatory reviews by providing supply chain documentation, process maps, evidence, and data.
  • Maintain project documentation in accordance with quality and document-control standards.
  • Facilitate communication across Supply Chain, QA/QC, Production, Engineering, Finance, IT, and leadership.
  • Create reporting dashboards and executive summaries that communicate project progress, KPIs, risks, and mitigation plans.
  • Provide structured updates during tiered performance meetings and leadership reviews.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
  • 3–7+ years of experience in supply chain, manufacturing, operations, procurement, or project management.
  • Experience working in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, or another cGMP-regulated environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional projects that deliver measurable operational, cost, quality, or service improvements.
  • Strong analytical skills, including root‑cause analysis, data interpretation, scenario modeling, and problem solving.
  • Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and intermediate to advanced Excel or comparable data‑analysis tools.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, documentation, stakeholder‑management, and executive‑reporting skills.
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands‑on execution, ownership, and follow‑through.
  • Preferred: Experience in 503B sterile compounding or commercial pharmaceutical production.
  • Preferred: PMP, Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt, APICS/ASCM CSCP, CPIM, or similar certification.
  • Preferred: Experience supporting quality investigations, deviations, CAPAs, supplier audits, or supplier corrective actions.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with FDA 503B compliance and cGMP documentation practices.
