Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Supply Chain, Business, or related field.
• 15+ years of progressive operations leadership experience.
• 7+ years of experience leading managers, directors, and cross-functional operational teams.
• Experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing, specialty pharmacy, biotechnology, medical devices, or FDA-regulated environment.
• Strong understanding of cGMP regulations and quality systems.
• Demonstrated success scaling operations in a growth-oriented environment.

MissionHires is seeking an experienced Vice President of Operations to join an innovative, well-known online pharmacy organization as part of its executive leadership team and lead operational strategy and execution across manufacturing, supply chain, distribution, inventory, facilities, and operational planning. This leader will combine strategic vision with hands‑on operational expertise to build scalable, efficient, inspection‑ready operations in a highly regulated pharmaceutical or biotechnology environment.

Responsibilities

• Partner with executive leadership to develop and execute operational strategy aligned with company objectives.
• Establish operational goals, KPIs, dashboards, and performance metrics to improve accountability and decision‑making.
• Lead long‑term capacity planning, growth initiatives, and scalable process implementation.
• Identify and execute opportunities to improve operational efficiency, throughput, productivity, and cost performance.
• Oversee pharmaceutical manufacturing and production activities while meeting quality, safety, and productivity requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives through standardized operating procedures and operational excellence practices.
• Support facility expansions, automation projects, and implementation of new manufacturing technologies.
• Lead procurement, inventory management, warehousing, distribution, and logistics functions.
• Develop strategies to improve service levels, inventory performance, fulfillment operations, and supply continuity for raw materials and finished goods.
• Partner closely with Quality and Regulatory leadership to maintain inspection readiness and operational compliance.
• Ensure compliance with FDA regulations, cGMP requirements, USP standards, and applicable state regulations.
• Support internal audits, external audits, regulatory inspections, and remediation activities as needed.
• Develop, mentor, and retain high‑performing operational leaders, including directors, managers, and department heads.
• Build a culture of accountability, collaboration, safety, and continuous improvement across operations.
• Develop and manage operational budgets, monitor results against financial objectives, and maintain quality standards while driving productivity.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field.
• 15+ years of progressive operations leadership experience.
• 7+ years of experience leading managers, directors, and cross-functional operational teams.
• Experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing, specialty pharmacy, biotechnology, medical devices, or another FDA‑regulated environment.
• Strong understanding of cGMP regulations, quality systems, and regulated manufacturing operations.
• Demonstrated success scaling operations in a growth‑oriented environment.
• Proven ability to manage operational budgets, performance metrics, and productivity initiatives.
• Experience leading manufacturing, supply chain, inventory, warehousing, distribution, or logistics operations.
• Strong strategic planning, organizational leadership, and change‑management capabilities.
• MBA or advanced scientific degree is preferred.
• Experience in precision medicine manufacturing, gene therapy manufacturing, pharmaceutical manufacturing, or 503B outsourcing facilities is preferred.
• Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or comparable operational excellence certification is preferred.
• Experience with facility expansions, automation initiatives, startup operations, or preparing organizations for FDA inspections is preferred.
