Job summary

Plus One, part of the Optum Workplace Well-being portfolio, seeks a Group Fitness Instructor to teach Sound Bath at a fitness center in West Des Moines, Iowa. You will develop engaging class formats, craft motivating playlists, and drive participation while ensuring accessibility for all fitness levels.

The role requires a current Group Fitness Certification or specialty class certification with CPR/AED, plus experience in corporate wellness or fitness instruction.

Qualifications

• Current nationally recognized Group Fitness Certification or specialty class certification; CPR/AED certification required (no online CPR/AED accepted).
• Prior experience in Group Fitness, personal training, corporate wellness, or related fields.
• Ability to engage clients professionally and communicate clearly to guests and participants.
• Ability to speak effectively to groups and motivate participants.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Develop engaging and motivating class formats with fun playlists.
• Build class attendance and adapt movements for all fitness levels.
• Provide class coverage at multiple locations as needed.

Job Overview:

We are currently seeking an energetic, reliable and passionate Group Fitness Instructor to teach Sound Bath at a high profile company's fitness center located in West Des Moines, Iowa.

• Develop effective, engaging, and motivating class formats accompanied by fun and appropriate playlists.
• Have a passion for client results by building class attendance and offering alternative movements to accommodate all levels of fitness.
• Opportunity to provide class coverage at multiple locations.

Requirements:

• Current nationally recognized Group Fitness Certification or specialty class certificate, specialty class license (i.e. Zumba, etc.) and current CPR /AED certification (no online CPR/AED certification accepted).
• Prior experience in Group Fitness, Personal Training, corporate health promotion, wellness, etc.
• Must be knowledgeable about the industry with the customer skills to network, engage, and interact with all clients, guests, and participants.
• Must communicate professionally using appropriate vocabulary and grammar to obtain and relay information to and from clients/guests.
• Ability to effectively engage participants as a public speaker.
• Competent with Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook).

Pay is based on several factors including, but not limited to, local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, geographic differentials, and other business and organizational needs.
