Job summary

SSM Health St. Clare Hospital - Fenton is seeking a skilled ultrasound department lead to manage daily imaging operations and deliver high-quality patient care.

The role requires completion of a Sonography program and two years of ultrasound experience, with AHA BLS-HCP and ARDMS/RDMS/RVS qualifications as applicable. You will supervise staff, ensure regulatory compliance, and coordinate with PACS workflows.

Qualifications

  • Completion of a Sonography program.
  • Two years of ultrasound imaging experience.
  • Current BLS HCP certification and ARDMS/RDMS/RVS credentials are required as applicable.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily operations of the ultrasound department and imaging services.
  • Ensure quality imaging and patient care; monitor documentation for accuracy and timeliness.
  • Oversee quality control testing, equipment maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Provide staff orientation, training, and coaching; contribute to performance evaluations.
  • Position patients and select appropriate anatomical and technical parameters.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and prompt submission of high-quality images to PACS.
  • Maintain a clean, safe department and assist in other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

Leads the daily operations of assigned department‘s imaging services.

Job Responsibilities and Requirements

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIESEnsures quality imaging, patient care and work flow. Monitors patient documentation for timely completion and accuracy.Oversees quality control testing, equipment maintenance and trouble shooting.Serves as a resource to department staff as well as other members of the team as needed.Performs staff orientation, training, and coaching. Provides input to staff performance evaluations.Positions patients and selects anatomic and technical parameters accurately.Ensures all activities comply with regulatory agency standards.Ensures prompt submission of all high-quality images and documents sent to PACS (image quality, images correctly labeled and patient data/history).Assists in maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly department to include procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms and any other areas in department.Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.Performs other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Constant standing and walking.Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more).Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication.Frequent use of hearing to distinguish body sounds and/or hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.Frequent lifting/moving of patients.Frequent reaching, gripping and keyboard use/data entry.Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.Occasional use of vision to identify and distinguish colors.Occasional bending, stooping, squatting, twisting and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.Rare kneeling and sitting.

REQUIRED PROFESSIONAL LICENSE AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS
