Job summary

Froedtert Health in Menomonee Falls, WI, seeks a sonography intern to perform studies under the supervision of a registered RDMS. The role includes assisting with non-comped studies, taking patient history, chart review, and preparing exam rooms as part of an internship experience.

Enrollment in a local ARDMS approved ultrasound training program is required, and BLS certification is expected within 90 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in an ARDMS approved ultrasound training program using a local hospital as a clinical rotation site is required; must be in the last six months of the training program.

Responsibilities

• Perform sonographic studies commensurate with training and documented competencies under direct supervision of a registered sonographer.
• Assist with non-comped sonographic studies as part of internship.
• Participate in non-scanning portions of studies including patient history, chart review, paperwork and patient assistance.
• Upon internship completion, perform department-specific routine sonographic studies and begin/end exams in EPIC.
• Locate, retrieve and view images in PACS; use AIDET in interactions with patients; escort patients to/from scanning area; clean and restock exam rooms.

Job Summary:

Under the direct supervision of a registered (RDMS)sonographer, performs sonographic studies commensurate with training to date and documented competencies. Assists with non-comped sonographic studies as part of the learning experience of internship. Participates in non-scanning portions of studies including patient history, chart review, associated paperwork, and patient assistance in accordance with staff orientation process. Upon completion of internship, staff member should be able to perform department-specific routine sonographic studies, begin/end exams in EPIC, locate, retrieve and view images in PACS, utilize AIDET during interactions with all patients, in the role of sonographer or assistant, escort patients to and from scanning area, clean and restock exam rooms.
