Position : Diagnostic Medical Sonography Director of Clinical Education
Responsibilities :
- Administrative Support : Assist the Program Director with administrative tasks, including curriculum development and accreditation activities.
- Instruction : Provide instruction when the Program Director lacks the necessary credentials.
- Professionalism : Uphold the organization's Mission and core values, including respect for individuals, integrity, teamwork, customer service, and achievement.
Key Responsibilities :
- Affiliation Agreements : Secure and maintain clinical affiliation agreements.
- Curriculum Development : Develop and refine the clinical education component of the curriculum, coordinate clinical education with didactic instruction, and evaluate clinical education affiliates. Ensure compliance with program requirements by all students.
- Student Records : Maintain and review student records.
- Instructor Training : Train clinical instructors.
- Community Engagement : Attend all local ARDMS or AIUM societies and other Diagnostic Medical Sonographer community functions when not conflicting with school duties.
- Student Supervision : Maintain supervisory responsibility for students at clinical sites.
- Documentation : Document visits to clinical sites, attend relevant community functions, and be available to address student issues during clinical practice.
- Additional Duties : Fulfill other duties as assigned by the Program Director.
- Program Director Backup : In the absence of the Program Director, assume the Program Director's duties and responsibilities.
Experience & Education :
- Education : Minimum of an Associate's Degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
- Credentials : Minimum credentials of Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) with specialty certifications in both OB / Gyn & Abdominal and Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT).
- Experience : Equivalent of four years of full-time professional experience as a general sonographer, cardiac sonographer, pediatric cardiac sonographer, and/or vascular technologist. Full-time is defined as a minimum of 35 hours per week.
- Teaching Proficiency : Proficiency in teaching methodology, supervision, instruction, evaluation, and guidance.
- Clinical Education : Preferred experience with educating students in a clinical setting.
