POSITION SUMMARY

Performs basic ultra-sound pregnancy and IUD localization studies using Real-Time scanners with an abdominal and/or vaginal approach as needed for services provided by PPGNY.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Direct Patient Care 100%

• Performs abdominal and vaginal ultra-sound scans on all referred patients to estimate gestational duration and localize the pregnancy, the placenta, estimate gestational and IUD age according to the PPGNY MS&Gs for Ultrasound Services.

• Performs intra-operative sonography at medical provider’s request, as needed for services provided by PPGNY

• Provides medical providers with follow-up sonograms, as needed for services provided by PPGNY.

• Prepares all associated required ultrasound documentation and signs ultrasound report with accompanying images for provider interpretation and the medical records

• Orders supplies as needed and keeps room stocked.

• Accepts individual and joint responsibility for and participates in meeting established goals for productivity.

• Accepts individual and joint responsibility for and participates in achieving established revenue cycle goals.

• Accepts individual and joint responsibility for and participates in health care center efforts to comply with all organizational and quality assurance guidelines, and all applicable government regulations.

• Accepts individual and joint responsibility for and participates in overall health center efforts to achieve all goals set to improve customer relations, increase customer satisfaction and promote repeat customer visits.

• Understands and commits to modeling excellent customer service in all aspects of health care delivery. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Requires prolonged sitting and repetitive tasks including use of a computer. Frequent standing, walking, bending. Must be able to walk up and down stairs. Requires lifting or moving of patients/supplies/equipment. Visual acuity is sufficient to perform frequent work on a computer screen and review printed reports and other materials. Requires the ability to hear and to communicate orally with others. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and medical equipment and will require reaching, grasping, pushing and pulling
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS
  • This job operates in a professional office environment. Potential exposure to communicable diseases and other conditions in a health center environment. May require travel to other health centers, at times in inclement weather. Requires a flexible schedule and during peak activity periods work in excess of 7.5 hours per day and/or 37.5 hours per week.
