Job summary

Generation Next Fertility is seeking a skilled Ultrasound Sonographer to independently operate ultrasound equipment and perform diagnostic exams for OB/GYN and fertility cases across our Manhattan and Westchester locations. You will communicate results to physicians and support quality assurance processes.

Applicants should have ARDMS certification, at least one year of OB/GYN experience, and fertility exposure is preferred.

Qualifications

• ARDMS certification (or equivalent) is required.
• Minimum one year of OB/GYN sonography experience.
• Fertility experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians in the execution of ultrasound exams per AIUM protocols and obtain images for diagnosis.
• Obtain essential information from patients, medical records, and prior exams for clinical correlation.
• Perform ultrasound scans and provide direct patient care after confirmation of study and patient ID.
• Perform blood draws per established protocols.
• Generate accurate computerized reports for physicians to review.
• Verify proper ultrasound documentation in the system after exams.
• Maintain stocked rooms and ensure smooth daily patient flow.
• Assist with sterile ultrasound-guided procedures as directed by physicians.
• Observe safety procedures and HIPAA compliance.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and care coordinators to ensure efficient patient flow.
• Participate in onboarding and training of new sonographers.

Job description

The Ultrasound Sonographeris responsible forthe independent operation of sonographic equipment and for performing and communicating the results of diagnostic examinations using sonography. The Sonographer is also responsible for the daily operations of the sonographic laboratory, patient schedule, equipment maintenance, the report of equipment failures, and quality assessment (QA).

The Sonographer must work two Saturdays per month and must be willing and able to travel efficiently to the Manhattan location and to and from the Westchester satellite location in Hartsdale.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assiststhe physicians in the execution ofoptimumquality ultrasound exams as per the AIUM protocols ina timely, efficient manner while obtaining images that support the diagnosis documented by the interpreting Physicians.
• Obtains essential information from patients, medical records, andpreviousexams for clinical correlation.
• Performs ultrasound scans and provides direct patient care as needed after proper confirmation of study and patient identification.
• Performsblood drawsin accordance withestablished protocols (patient identification, tube selection, labeling, etc.).
• Effectively communicates differentials to interpreting physicians.
• Generatesaccuratecomputerized reports for the Physician to review.
• Upon completion of the ultrasound exam,verifiesproper ultrasound documentation in e-IVF.
• Ensures that each assigned room is adequately stocked and prepared for smooth daily patient flow.
• Assistswith all aspects of sterile ultrasound-guided procedures as directed by the Physicians.
• Prepares the necessary supplies and paperwork to support the Physician for sterile procedures.
• Observes and follows safety procedures, including universal precautions.
• Maintains proper HIPAA compliance whilemaintainingfamiliarity with any changesregardingtechnology and the safety of self, patients, and visitors.
• Operates the equipment toacquirevarious imaging results andreportsdeficiencies to the proper personnel to rectify any concerns.
• Provides compassionate, patient-centered care whilemaintainingprofessionalism and confidentiality.
• Collaborates effectively with physicians, nurses, medical assistants, phlebotomists, and care coordinators to ensure efficient patient flow.
• Assistswith patient education by explaining ultrasound procedures and answering basic questions withinscope.
• Assistswith onboarding and training of new sonographers when requested.

SCHEDULE

• Full-Time
• Two Saturdays a month.

Salary Range

$46 - $49 USD
