Job summary

Saint Francis Healthcare System is seeking a Diagnostic Ultrasound Technologist to perform ultrasound exams across patient ages, following approved safety and protocol standards. Job description

JOB SUMMARY

Performs diagnostic ultrasound procedures on patients of all ages, according to approved protocols, ultrasound exposure, safety, and established exam indicators. Schedules and obtains history from patients. Evaluates the appropriateness of requested exams and assist radiologists. Maintains knowledge of equipment and instruments/supplies pertinent to high quality exams. Provides effective internal and external patient communication consistent with age and mental capacity.



JOB DETAILS AND REQUIREMENTS

Education:


  • RDMS (Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer by American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography-ARDMS) required – if registry not currently held, employee must be registered within one year as condition of continued employment.

  • Abdomen (ABD) or Obstetrics/Gynecology (OB/GYN) registries as provided by the ARDMS required within one year of employment.


Certification & Licensures:


  • BLS Certification

  • Must be registered with ARDMS within one (1) year of start date.
