Inova Springfield HealthPlex is looking for a dedicated Sonographer to join the team. This role will be a PRN (as needed) position.

Job Responsibilities

• Assist physicians in performing examinations using standard protocols, precautions, and sterile techniques.
• Recognize clinical or emergent issues during exams, take appropriate actions, and ensure optimal outcomes.
• Understand intravenous (IV) heparin locks and central line usage related to Sonography, and properly inject IV contrast or other test-enhancing solutions following Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonography Standards.
• Accurately identify patients and their files, correct errors promptly, and track patients according to department procedures.
• Participate in performance improvement initiatives, in-services, and meetings.

Additional Requirements

• Work Schedule: PRN
• Education: Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program.
• License: ARRT, ARDMS, RDMS, or RVT registry eligible; must obtain certification within 18 months of hire.
• Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association.
• Experience: Recent hospital/healthcare experience as a sonographer or student.
