Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Restaurant Team Lead to join our Sonny’s BBQ team at one of our awesome stores in the Ocala area. The Team Lead will oversee daily operations during their shift, ensure excellent customer service, and support staff to maintain a positive and efficient work environment.

Lead Responsibilities (including but not limited to)

• Ensure that all iServ/Sonny’s BBQ mission, values, and objectives are communicated, understood, and practiced with all Team Members.
• Ensure that our restaurants have a fun, playful, and engaging atmosphere by going above and beyond to meet the individual needs and concerns of our staff and guests daily.
• Promote a culture that inspires improvement; continually develop and mentor team members under your direction and be directly responsible for their success.
• Adhere to all food handling and safety regulations throughout the kitchen and restaurant.
• Lead front‑ and back‑of‑the‑house staff through shifts to ensure a great experience for all guests.
• Oversee the learning and development of new Team Members.
• Communicate with the Management Team on the performance of Team Members.
• Perform other duties as necessary, including POS functions, handling guest concerns, and receiving Team Member checkouts.

Required Qualifications

• 1 year of restaurant experience.
• A valid driver’s license and the ability to complete a successful driver insurability check, background check, and drug screen.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States.
• Minimum 18 years of age.
• Ability to successfully enroll and complete required training or certifications within a reasonable amount of time.
• Strong operational and training skills.

Desired Qualifications

• Ability to lead and direct while cultivating a healthy and collaborative team environment.
• Advanced degree in hospitality or a related field.
• Proficiency in all areas of front‑of‑the‑house and back‑of‑the‑house functions.
• Held positions of leadership previously.

Job Expectations

• Stand for prolonged periods and handle products, tools, paperwork, and equipment.
• May be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, and may need to work with cleaning chemicals.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 30 lbs.
