Job summary

Boart Longyear, a global leader in drilling services, is seeking a hands-on mechanic based in our Glendale, AZ facilities. You will spend time in the workshop gaining knowledge of Sonic Drill heads, training, repairs, and overhauls, with occasional field trouble shooting and head exchanges.

You should be eager to learn, able to work in a team, and willing to travel. The role emphasizes safety, practical skills with hand and power tools, and a commitment to keeping equipment in top condition

Qualifications

Knowledge of small engine repairs is preferred
Knowledge of duplex and triplex mud pumps is preferred
Knowledge of failure analysis and root cause preferred
Be able to lift 50 pounds frequently
Pass a drug screen
Pass a background check
Must have a valid driver’s license
Must be MSHA/OSHA certified

Responsibilities

Learn, be self-motivated, and aim to become a team leader.
Service, repair and maintain Boart Longyear’s Sonic Drill Heads and support equipment.
Diagnose mechanical problems and perform quick turnarounds to keep drill heads in operation.
Stand for extended periods; be able to lift and install components.
Use hand and power tools safely in restricted spaces.
Follow safety policies and perform routine equipment maintenance.
Willing to travel and work in adverse weather conditions.
Communicate effectively with supervisor, driller and safety personnel.
Work with minimal supervision.
