Job summary

Boart Longyear, a global leader in drilling services, is seeking a hands-on mechanic based in our Glendale, AZ facilities. You will spend time in the workshop gaining knowledge of Sonic Drill heads, training, repairs, and overhauls, with occasional field trouble shooting and head exchanges.

You should be eager to learn, able to work in a team, and willing to travel. The role emphasizes safety, practical skills with hand and power tools, and a commitment to keeping equipment in top condition

Qualifications

• Knowledge of small engine repairs is preferred
• Knowledge of duplex and triplex mud pumps is preferred
• Knowledge of failure analysis and root cause preferred
• Be able to lift 50 pounds frequently
• Pass a drug screen
• Pass a background check
• Must have a valid driver’s license
• Must be MSHA/OSHA certified

Responsibilities

• Learn, be self-motivated, and aim to become a team leader.
• Service, repair and maintain Boart Longyear’s Sonic Drill Heads and support equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical problems and perform quick turnarounds to keep drill heads in operation.
• Stand for extended periods; be able to lift and install components.
• Use hand and power tools safely in restricted spaces.
• Follow safety policies and perform routine equipment maintenance.
• Willing to travel and work in adverse weather conditions.
• Communicate effectively with supervisor, driller and safety personnel.
• Work with minimal supervision.

In this position youwill gain valuable knowledge of our Sonic Drill heads. Time will be spent mainly inthe workshop, with opportunities to travel to jobsites. Duties in the workshop will include training,drill head repairs and overhauls. Timespent in the field will be for trouble shooting drill head issues and exchanging drill heads. Responsibilities

• Applicants should be eager to learn, be self-motivated and have a desire to become a team leader.
• This person will perform a variety of duties designed to service, repair and maintain Boart Longyear’s Fleet ofSonic Drill Heads and support equipment.
• Must have the ability to diagnose mechanical problems in equipment and be able to perform quick turnaround to get these drill heads back inoperation.
• Mechanic must be able to remain in a standing position forextended periods of time. You need to be able to lift your arms above shoulder level to install and remove broken or worn-out components.
• You must have skills in the care and use of hand and powertools and be able to manipulate these tools in areas of limited space.
• You must be able to work safely and adhere to all policies and requirements
• Perform routine maintenance of equipment
• Willing to work in adverse weather conditions
• Be willing to travel
• Must be able to work well with others and have a positiveattitude
• Must be able to communicate with supervisor, driller andsafety personnel
• Must have the ability to follow instructions while paying close attention to detail
• Must be able to work with little or no supervision
