Job summary

The Corner Store at The Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas is seeking a Sommelier to join an exclusive opening team, leveraging wine expertise to curate exceptional dining experiences for guests. You'll pair wines with dishes, provide personalized recommendations, and deliver a WOW guest experience in a high-energy, hospitality-focused environment.

Ideal candidates will have 1+ years of relevant experience; 4+ years in a similar dining setting is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent required
• Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays
• Must be 21 years of age or older
• 1+ Years of Prior Relevant Experience required
• 4+ Years of Prior Service experience in a similar dining environment preferred

Responsibilities

• Maintain complete knowledge of wine list, and wine and food pairing
• Collect money, while following all proper cash handling and comp procedures
• Clean equipment, tools, and supplies and ensure equipment is in good working order, including cleanliness, sanitation, and appearance of workstation
• Maintain and update cellar/storage inventory according to set pars and internal controls, and request product to maintain stock in designated area
• Meet regularly with the wine trade to actively seek quality wines for the restaurant wine program as well as evaluate wines and other beverage for potential purchase
• Eliminate waste by training and supervising employees on wine knowledge, pour levels, proper storage, etc
• Verify accuracy of wine delivery ordered and received from the main warehouse and return or exchange deliveries when a warehouse error has occurred
• Maintain appropriate beverage costs by managing purchases and requisitions; place wine requisitions at the end of each service

THE STARTING RATE:

$15.37 Hourly + Tips

THE DAY-TO-DAY:

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent required
• Work varied shifts, to include weekends and holidays required
• Must be 21 years of age or older
• 1+ Years of Prior Relevant Experience required
• 4+ Years of Prior Service experience in a similar dining environment preferred
