Job summary

The Corner Store at MGM Resorts International in Las Vegas is hiring a Master Cook to lead high-quality dishes with creativity and precision. You will work with a premier culinary team to deliver elevated dining experiences on the Las Vegas Strip, while upholding the highest safety and quality standards.

Ideal candidates have 1+ year of professional culinary experience, 2+ years in high-volume settings, and a passion for extraordinary guest experiences.

• 2+ years of experience in a high-volume restaurant environment.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Follow methods of food preparation, cooking, portion size, mixing of sauces and garnishing to ensure approved preparation.
• Set-up workstation based on pars and station set-up sheets.
• Evaluate cooked food before serving for quality flavors and appearance.
• Drive the Customer Relations Management system by ensuring orders are handled correctly.
• Comply with health and safety standards and proper holding temperatures.
• Complete closing requirements as directed by Chefs.
• Delegate tasks to other job classifications as instructed.

THE JOB:

As a Master Cook at The Corner Store, you'll be part of one of the most anticipated restaurant openings on the Las Vegas Strip. Bringing passion, precision, and creativity to every dish, you'll work alongside an exceptional culinary team to deliver elevated dining experiences that leave a lasting impression. From executing high-quality cuisine to maintaining the highest culinary standards, you'll play a key role in creating memorable WOW moments while helping shape the success of this exciting new destination from day one.

THE STARTING RATE:

$ 23.9547/hr

THE DAY-TO-DAY:

• Follow methods of food preparation, cooking, portion size, mixing of sauces and garnishing of foods to ensure food is prepared in an approved manner as prescribed by the Chef, Executive Sous Chef and Sous Chef
• Set-up workstation based on pars established by Chef, Executive Sous Chef and Sous Chef, follow station set-up sheet, and operate a specific station
• Evaluate cooked food before serving for quality flavors and appearance by taste and smell
• Drive the Customer Relations Management system by ensuring orders are handled correctly
• Comply with occupational, health and safety standards, ensure food is stored and kept at proper holding temperatures through the use of thermometers
• Complete closing requirements directed by Chef, Executive Sous Chef and/or Sous Chef
• Delegate tasks to other job classifications as instructed by chefs

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
• 1+ year of professional culinary experience required.
• 2+ years of experience in a high-volume restaurant environment preferred.
• Passion for delivering exceptional food quality with strong attention to detail and consistency.
• Previous experience working in a luxury resort or similar hospitality setting is preferred.
• Flexible and available to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
