Job summary

Alterra Mountain Company seeks a Sommelier for Stratton Mountain Club. The role leads the wine program, ensures top-tier service, and collaborates with the culinary team to uphold Stratton’s high standards.

This is a full-time seasonal position with a starting wage of $20.00-$22.00/hour plus commission. Ideal candidates have 3+ years in wine, strong leadership, exceptional interpersonal skills, and the ability to work weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• 3+ years working with wine or building a wine program
• Experience leading, coaching and training a team
• Exceptional interpersonal and guest service skills
• Ability to work weekends and holidays

Responsibilities

• Oversee the wine program for all Stratton Mountain Club outlets
• Develop, implement and train the wine program
• Handle tableside wine service and selling across F&B outlets
• Track inventory and update wine lists as needed
• Collaborate with F&B Manager to optimize wine cellar inventory
• Build rapport with high-end clientele and ensure FOH wine service standards
• Forecast wine needs and support cost controls
