Job summary

Scoular Co. in Kansas is seeking a Plant Operator to run equipment for solvent extraction of oil from soybeans and canola. You will monitor control systems, process samples, perform data entry, and follow safety policies.

The role requires operating distillation and hexane tanks, performing daily equipment checks, and contributing to safety programs in a PSM environment. 12-hour rotating shifts and physical requirements apply.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to operate various types of machinery.
• Ability to look at computer screens for long periods.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions.
• Ability to work in loud noise environments.
• Ability to work in dusty environments.
• Ability to work in elevated areas above 4 feet and in confined spaces.
• Ability to perform physical job duties (bend, lift up to 50 lbs, kneel, climb, crawl, twist).
• Adhere to PPE policies.
• Willingness to work 12-hour rotating shifts.
• Open to overtime when needed.

Responsibilities

• Control production operations by monitoring gauges and flow meters to regulate parameters and make adjustments.
• Operate and maintain distillation, extraction, hexane tanks and other equipment for oil extraction from soybeans and canola.
• Operate and maintain the soybean & canola crush plant.
• Perform daily equipment checks to ensure functionality and maintenance.
• Participate in safety activities, near-miss reporting and meetings.
• Monitor equipment and document process log sheet readings.
• Work with chemicals in a PSM environment.
