Job summary

Midea in California is seeking a senior data center solutions leader to partner with sales and engineering teams, designing data center architectures that optimize cooling, power, and IT load. You will lead technical proposals, site surveys, and demonstrations to win strategic North American projects.

You bring 8+ years in data center design, familiarity with Uptime Tier and TIA-942, and a full-stack perspective on infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Refrigeration, Cryogenics, Thermal Engineering, HVAC, or related fields.
• 8+ years of experience in data center solution design, project delivery, or technical support.
• Proven experience in North American data center projects is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with Uptime Tier, TIA-942, and other international standards.
• Fluent in English with strong cross-cultural communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to engage in high-level technical discussions with overseas clients.

Job description

• Partner with KAMs to deeply understand strategic clients' technical needs and co-create tailored data center solutions, covering:
• Magnetic bearing chillers
• Fan Wall systems
• Intelligent building controls & energy optimization
• Air-cooled, water-cooled, and liquid-cooled architectures
• Lead technical proposal development, including bid documentation, thermodynamic/energy simulations, solution reviews, and cost estimation—ensuring both technical feasibility and commercial viability.
• Serve as the primary technical interface for clients, driving technical presentations, site surveys, and solution demos to build trust and credibility.

2. Project Delivery & Technical Support

• Ensure seamless transition from sales to EPC/engineering teams by reviewing construction plans and enforcing technical standards.
• Coordinate cross-functional resources (global product teams, supply chain, subcontractors) to resolve critical technical issues and conduct root cause analysis during delivery.
• Support client POC environment setup and testing, ensuring all technical KPIs are met.

3. Product & Capability Development

• Gather regional market intelligence and competitive insights, feeding back to global Product Management to influence roadmap and certification strategies.
• Build and maintain a North America solutions knowledge base, documenting best practices and case studies to empower the regional team.

Qualifications

1. Experience & Background

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Refrigeration, Cryogenics, Thermal Engineering, HVAC, or related fields.
• 8+ years of experience in data center solution design, project delivery, or technical support.
• Proven experience in North American data center projects is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with Uptime Tier, TIA-942, and other international standards.

2. Technical Expertise

• Deep understanding of data center infrastructure systems, including the interplay between cooling, IT load, power distribution, and BMS—full-stack perspective is a strong plus.
• Solid knowledge of data center product portfolios and architectural selection.
• Proficient in technical bid writing, cost estimation, and risk assessment.
• Knowledge of low-carbon / energy-efficient technologies (liquid cooling, modularization, etc.) is preferred.
• Capable of independently performing TCO/Capex/Opex analysis, and articulating technical value in customer-facing financial language.

3. Core Competencies

• Fluent in English (working proficiency), with outstanding cross-cultural communication and presentation skills—able to engage in high-level technical discussions with overseas clients.
