You will mentor engineers, drive architectural decisions, ensure reliability, security, and maintainability, and introduce AI-assisted development tools to boost productivity.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience leading software teams and mentoring engineers.
• Hands-on Java, Spring Boot, and AWS development experience.
• Experience building REST APIs, Kafka, MongoDB, and event-driven architectures.
• Strong solution architecture and system design capabilities.
• Ability to communicate architectural decisions to technical and business stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor software engineers through design, development, deployment, and production support.
• Design and implement enterprise applications using Java, Spring Boot, and AWS.
• Develop REST APIs and event-driven integrations using Kafka and MongoDB.
• Translate requirements into scalable solutions by partnering with business and technical teams.
• Establish architecture and engineering practices focusing on performance, security, and maintainability.

Capstone IT is helping our client find a Solutions Lead who will lead a team of software engineers while remaining hands-on with solution architecture, technical design, and application delivery. This person will design scalable, cloud-native applications using Java, Spring Boot, AWS, and related integration technologies. They will guide developers, make architectural decisions, and ensure applications are reliable, secure, and maintainable. The role combines technical leadership with hands-on engineering and includes using AI-assisted development tools to improve team productivity.

• Ability to communicate architecture decisions to technical and business stakeholders.
• Must be authorized to work without current or future employment sponsorship.
