Job summary

Nidec Automation in Boston, MA seeks a Senior Manager – Solutions Engineering to lead strategy, development, and execution of the Solutions Engineering function, including team leadership and cross-functional alignment. Responsibilities include collaboration with Product Management and Engineering, training for Sales teams, and performance management. Travel up to 20% is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field required.
• 8–12+ years of experience in application engineering, design engineering, systems engineering, or related roles in automation or motion control.
• Prior experience leading or managing engineering teams preferred.
• Strong expertise in motion control systems, electric motors, drives, and gearing technologies.
• Proven ability to lead system-level solution development and integration in industrial or automation environments.
• Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with Sales, Product Management, and Engineering.
• Strong leadership, coaching, and team development skills.
• Excellent communication and customer-facing skills.
• Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Customer-focused mindset with the ability to balance technical and commercial considerations.
• Experience supporting New Business Development (NBD) and strategic customer engagements.

Responsibilities
