Job summary

nVent is seeking engineers to design and quote customized electrical enclosure solutions for data centers, energy storage, and emerging technologies. You will review customer specifications, create electrical designs, and ensure compliance with codes and application requirements.

Collaborating with sales, plant engineers, and design teams, you will balance speed, accuracy, and cost to deliver technically sound, financially competitive solutions aligned with customer needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; relevant experience considered.
• Experience designing electrical systems (one-line diagrams, wiring, equipment sizing) in commercial or industrial applications.
• Experience interpreting customer specifications, codes, and standards (NEC or similar) and applying them to real-world designs.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment where solutions are often custom-not predefined.
• Strong communicator who engages with sales, manufacturing, and customers to translate technical concepts and influence decisions.
• Experience reviewing technical designs or supporting others on specifications, code compliance, and industry standards.
• Strong written and verbal communication bridging technical concepts to business needs.

Responsibilities

• Develop custom electrical enclosure designs for data centers, energy storage, and emerging tech.
• Review customer specs and create electrical designs that meet codes and applications.
• Design one-line diagrams, interconnects, wire sizing, and equipment selection.
• Collaborate with sales, plant engineers, and design teams to translate concepts into manufacturable solutions.
• Balance speed, accuracy, and cost to deliver compliant quotes on time.
• Review and validate designs for code compliance and alignment with customer specs.
• Support continuous improvement of quoting, design, and sales processes.
