Job summary

Akamai is seeking a Solutions Engineer II to join the NA Pre-Sales Team. You will be the customer’s trusted technical advisor, collaborating with sales to drive product adoption and account growth for Akamai’s web performance, cloud security, and edge delivery solutions.

Responsibilities include managing pre-sales activities, crafting technical proposals, delivering demos, and leading POCs to ensure customer success while aligning with business requirements.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in a customer-facing technical pre-sales/consulting role.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, MIS, or related field.
• Solid understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP(S) and APIs.

• Create sales opportunities by managing the pre-sales technical process and demonstrating Akamai's technology to customers.
• Manage the technical proposal process and ensure all information and recommendations address customer requirements.
• Track account activity for business analysis and design technical solutions meeting customer needs.
• Lead sales activities such as Technical Demos, CARs, and POCs.
• Maximize customer satisfaction, retention, and growth based on customer needs.

Our new customer acquisition team is an experienced group of Internet technologists. You\'ll work with customers who find value in web performance or cloud security solutions for scale, reliability, performance and security. The team focuses on maintaining highest quality customer service and applying industry best practices to cutting-edge solutions.

In this role, you will be the customers\' trusted advisor and technical expert. Collaborating with sales partners, you\'ll facilitate product adoption and account growth for Akamai and our customers.

As a Solutions Engineer II, you will be responsible for:

• Creating sales opportunities by managing the pre-sales technical process and demonstrating Akamai\'s technology to customers.
• Managing the technical proposal process and ensuring all technical information and recommendations addressing customer requirements are accurate.
• Tracking account activity for business analysis and reporting, designing technical solutions to meet our customer\'s needs.
• Leading sales activities such as Technical Demos, Customer Analysis Reports (CAR\'s) and Proof of Concepts (POC\'s).
• Maximizing customer satisfaction, retention, and growth based on the customer\'s needs and business requirements.

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

• Have at least 3 years working in a customer-facing or consulting role in technical pre-sales/sales engineering/post-sales.
• Have a High School / Bachelor\'s Degree in computer science, Engineering, Management Information Systems, or another related field
• Demonstrate understanding of the internet, including but not limited to technologies like TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP(S), APIs etc.
• Have experience or an interest in working with DevOps, Media or Internet Security
• Have excellent written, verbal and presentation skills including communicating complex technical content to a range of audiences.
• Be a team player, able to collaborate, prioritize, and solve problems in a fast changing environment
