Job summary

Akamai is seeking a Senior Solutions Engineer for its Public Sector Pre-Sales team in the United States. You will partner with engineering and business teams to become the technical expert on Akamai's solutions and help customers translate needs into practical, secure, scalable deployments.

You will lead Technical Demos and POCs, manage technical proposals, and track account activity to drive valuable outcomes for government and regulated industries.

Qualifications

• 8 years of experience and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent.
• US citizenship is required due to client base.
• Experience in customer-facing consulting, technical solutions pre-sales or pre-sales roles.
• Background in web acceleration, web security, infrastructure security technologies or cloud computing solutions.
• Deep understanding of internet protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, HTML, SSL).
• Ability to present technical topics to diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Create sales opportunities by managing the pre-sales technical process and demonstrating Akamai's technology to customers.

As a Senior Solutions Engineer, you will be responsible for:

• Creating sales opportunities by managing the pre-sales technical process and demonstrating Akamai's technology to customers
• Managing the technical proposal process and ensuring all technical information and recommendations addressing customer requirements are accurate
• Tracking account activity for business analysis and reporting, designing technical solutions to meet our customers needs.
• Leading sales activities such as Technical Demos and Proof of Concepts (POCs).

• Have 8 years of experience and a Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent.

• Have experience working in a customer-facing consulting, technical solutions pre-sales or pose sales role

Compensation

Akamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For US based candidates only - the base salary for this position ranges from $119,600 - $215,400/year; a candidate’s salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location. Compensation for candidates outside the US will vary. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonus or incentives, equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
