Job summary

Akamai is seeking a Senior Solutions Engineer for the United States (remote) to join our Public Sector Pre-Sales team. You will design and demonstrate innovative Akamai solutions to government and regulated industries, becoming the technical expert for customers and collaborating with engineering and business teams.

You will lead the technical proposal process, deliver sales-oriented demonstrations, and design solutions that address customer requirements.

Qualifications

• 8 years of experience in a customer-facing consulting, technical solutions pre-sales or pose sales role.
• US citizenship due to the nature of our client base.
• Background in web acceleration, web security, infrastructure security technologies or cloud computing solutions.
• Demonstrate understanding of the internet, including TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, HTML, SSL protocols and Cloud Computing.
• Strong presentation skills to diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Creating sales opportunities by managing the pre-sales technical process and demonstrating Akamai's technology to customers.
• Managing the technical proposal process and ensuring all technical information and recommendations address customer requirements.
• Tracking account activity for business analysis and reporting, designing technical solutions to meet customer needs.
• Leading sales activities such as Technical Demos and Proof of Concepts (POCs).

As a Senior Solutions Engineer, you will be responsible for:

• Creating sales opportunities by managing the pre-sales technical process and demonstrating Akamai's technology to customers
• Managing the technical proposal process and ensuring all technical information and recommendations addressing customer requirements are accurate
• Tracking account activity for business analysis and reporting, designing technical solutions to meet our customers needs.
• Leading sales activities such as Technical Demos and Proof of Concepts (POCs).

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

• Have 8 years of experience and a Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent.
• Have US citizenship, due to the nature of our client base
• Have experience working in a customer-facing consulting, technical solutions pre-sales or pose sales role
• Have background and experience in web acceleration, web security, infrastructure security technologies or cloud computing solutions
• Demonstrate comprehensive understanding of the internet, including TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, HTML, SSL protocols and Cloud Computing

Compensation

Akamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For US based candidates only - the base salary for this position ranges from $119,600 - $215,400/year; a candidate’s salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location. Compensation for candidates outside the US will vary. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonus or incentives, equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
