Job summary

Ascc,-Inc. is seeking a Customer Engagement & Requirements Engineer to support sales by capturing customer needs, developing technical solutions, and preparing quotes.

You will function as the primary technical resource during the sales process and collaborate with engineering and operations to ensure solutions meet requirements. You will lead discovery discussions, translate needs into specifications, and communicate effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Description

Responsible for supporting sales activities through customer engagement, requirements development, solution definition, and quote preparation. Acts as the primary technical resource during the sales process by developing standard and moderately complex solutions, preparing scopes of work, and ensuring customer requirements are accurately translated into proposed solutions. Complex solution requirements are escalated to the Senior Application Engineer.

Requirements

Customer Engagement & Requirements Development

• Lead customer discovery discussions and requirements gathering sessions.
• Identify customer business and technical requirements.
• Translate customer needs into solution requirements and recommendations.
• Support customer meetings, presentations, and technical discussions.

Quote Development

• Develop standard and moderately complex system quotes.
• Prepare scopes of work, estimates, and supporting documentation.
• Validate proposed solutions for accuracy and alignment with established standards.
• Coordinate with engineering and operations teams as necessary during quote development.

Sales Support

• Support sales presentations, demonstrations, and customer-facing technical discussions.
• Provide technical expertise during the sales process.
• Assist in developing solution recommendations and value propositions for customers.
• Communicate technical information effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Engineering Coordination

• Provide requirements and supporting information for complex solution development.
• Support feasibility reviews and solution design discussions.
• Escalate non-standard, high-risk, or complex solution requirements to the Senior Application Engineer.

Additional Responsibilities

• Assist with technical documentation development and maintenance.
• Support internal training and knowledge-sharing activities.
• Maintain awareness of supported products, manufacturers, and solution offerings.
• Provide backup support during periods of increased workload or resource constraints
• Participate in Tier 3.5 on-call rotation for escalated hardware support.
• Participate in Tier 4 on-call rotation as a primary software support resource.

Requirements / Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Engineering Technology, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience with customer-facing technical discussions and solution development.
• Knowledge of system integration, networking, hardware, and software-based solutions.
• Ability to gather and document customer requirements.
• Experience preparing technical quotes, estimates, and scopes of work.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to interpret and communicate technical concepts to customers and internal stakeholders.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple opportunities and priorities simultaneously.
• Maintain knowledge of company-supported technologies, manufacturers, and solution offerings.
