Job summary

AnaVation is seeking a Senior-level Solutions Architect to design, build, implement, and maintain enterprise-class systems that support mission requirements in Washington DC. This role will develop baseline architectures, ensure standards align with strategy, and drive modernization, cloud migration, and integration initiatives.

A Top-Secret clearance is required, and the position is on-site in DC with no remote option.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of enterprise backend or Java development experience.
• Experience building backend services, APIs, and front-end apps.
• Experience with PostgreSQL, schema design, and performance tuning.
• Familiarity with Spring/Spring Boot, Node.js, Angular/React, etc.
• Experience in enterprise solution architecture and security considerations.
• Frontend/backend/API integration across enterprise apps.
• Led multiple development teams through design and delivery.
• Experience with SDLC processes and tools (Git, Jira, Jenkins).
• Active TS clearance and ability to work onsite in DC.

Description of Task to be Performed:

AnaVation is seeking a Senior-level Solutions Architect to design, build, implement, and maintain enterprise-class systems and processes that support mission requirements. This role will develop baseline and target architectures for production environments, ensuring that technology standards and frameworks align with the organization’s overall business and technical strategy. The Enterprise Architect will evaluate existing and proposed architectures, identify design gaps, and recommend improvements that enhance system stability, interoperability, portability, scalability, and long-term performance.

Daily duties include, but are not limited to:

• Designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise-level systems and processes.


• Aligning enterprise architecture standards, frameworks, and solutions with business objectives and technology strategy.


• Evaluating existing and proposed system architectures to identify design gaps, risks, and areas for improvement.


• Recommending architectural changes and enhancements to improve stability, interoperability, portability, scalability, and performance.


• Collaborating with business, technical, security, and program stakeholders to translate mission needs into architectural solutions.


• Establishing and maintaining architecture principles, standards, models, roadmaps, and technical documentation.


• Supporting modernization, integration, cloud migration, and technology transformation initiatives. Providing technical guidance and architectural recommendations throughout the system development lifecycle.

This position requires a Top-Secret clearance.

This position is on-site in Washington DC with no remote option.

Required Qualifications:

• 10+ years of documented and demonstrated experience in Backend Developer, Full Stack Developer, or Java Developer roles, including enterprise application design and delivery.


• Experience designing, developing, testing, and deploying backend services, APIs, and front-end applications using Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, Go, and/or .NET, including Java development using current Java Development Kit versions.


• Experience with PostgreSQL database architecture, schema design, SQL development, and performance tuning.


• Experience implementing application frameworks and technologies such as Spring/Spring Boot, Node.js, NestJS, Gin, Angular, React, Next.js, Google Web Toolkit, Hibernate, and Struts.


• Experience defining enterprise solution architectures and system designs, applying software design patterns, identifying antipatterns, and assessing security vulnerabilities and mitigation strategies.


• Experience designing front-end, backend, and API solutions, including integration across enterprise applications and data platforms.


• Experience leading multiple development teams through technical design, implementation, and delivery.


• Experience with software development lifecycle processes, including SAFe Agile, and development and delivery tools such as Git, Nexus, SonarQube, Jira, Confluence, Crucible, Jenkins, Ansible, and Ansible Tower.


• Experience troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving technical, functional, and performance issues in cloud environments.


• Experience designing, planning, and managing data migrations, including data mapping, transformation, validation, and cutover.


• Has an active TS clearance and can work onsite in DC.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or SAFe Architect


• Experience with XTS and its integration into enterprise solutions.
