Job summary

AnaVation is seeking a Lead Engineer to provide technical leadership in planning, design, and management of a cloud-based information system for a government setting. The role requires cloud, security, and coordination with government personnel to ensure deliverables and task assignments are met.

The ideal candidate holds a TS clearance, thrives in a multidisciplinary team, and can operate onsite in Huntsville, AL with early remote work as space is prepared.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Computer Science or related field and 7+ years in software/system development in production
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation) for secure deployments
• Experience with cloud and on-prem hybrid architectures and network virtualization
• Experience with Golang, Postgres, Python, NodeJS, Rust, or JavaScript
• Experience with APIs using REST/gRPC and code reviews
• Ability to design and review system architectures and ensure health maintenance

Description of Task to be Performed:

AnaVation is seeking a Lead Engineer to provide technical leadership in the planning, investigation, design,implementation, and management of a cloud-based information system, and provide guidance and oversight for our highperforming technical team. The ideal candidate will be a multidisciplinary engineer with a software engineeringbackground and a creative “figure it out” personality to help advance the state-of-the-art and ensure high availabilityofour mission critical system. The position requires understanding of cloud technologies, networking, and security in agovernment setting. Candidate will interface daily with key government personnel and stakeholders at all levels, ensuretaskings are completed, and ensure overall delivery excellence.

This position will eventually be on site with our customer in Huntsville, Alabama. The selected candidate willwork remotely until space is ready. Applicants who do not currently reside within commuting distance toHuntsville should describe how they would satisfy this requirement.

This position requires an existing Top Secret clearance and the ability to obtain SCI accesses with a polygraph.

Required Qualifications:

• B.S. in Computer Science or related field, plus 7 years of relevant experience with software and/or systemdevelopment in high demand production environment.
• Understanding of software engineering best practices Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code practices and tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation) to support consistent, repeatable, and secure deployment of mission-critical systems
• Experience supporting and maintaining application codebases deployed across hybrid architectures (cloud and on-prem), with familiarity in network virtualization technologies.
• Familiarity with cloud solutions in federal environments
• Experience with Golang, Post Gres, Python, NodeJS, Rust, and/or Java Script.
• Experience with basic scripting
• Experience conducting code reviews (G, Kotlin, Java) and test plan reviews
• Experience designing, implementing, and integrating APIs using modern communication protocols (e.g., REST, gRPC)
• Experience troubleshooting issues and working with team to resolve
• Ability to collaborate in system design, requirements analysis, and work product review to ensure sound technical solutions
• Ability to create plans to ensure that necessary maintenance to support system health is performed regularly.
• Ability to perform system level design and configuration of products including determination of cloud computer unit, operating system, and other platform specs
• Understanding of cybersecurity best practices
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to operate successfully onsite with our customer and team in a fast pasted operational environment
• An existing Top Secret clearance and the ability to obtain SCI accesses with a polygraph

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of VoIP architectures, signaling protocols, and configuration of provider services (e.g., Vonage)
• Proficiency with Twilio APIs and associated documentation
• Experience in an agile environment
• Familiarity with government ATO process
