Job description

About Chainalysis Government Solutions

Chainalysis Government Solutions (CGS) is a wholly-owned Chainalysis subsidiary providing blockchain intelligence solutions—including technology, training, and services—to law enforcement, defense, and national security customers across the U.S. Government.

As a Solutions Architect, you will serve as a trusted technical advisor to our Department of Justice (DOJ) sales teams. You will bridge the gap between complex blockchain data and mission-critical objectives, building custom solutions that support the deployment and integration of our projects within the Department of Justice, which could include classified environments.

In this role, you’ll:
  • Drive the Technical Win: Lead customer-facing technical discussions and architectural design to align Chainalysis capabilities with specific DOJ missions.

  • Operate with High Autonomy: Proactively identify, develop, and demonstrate custom solutions and integrations with minimal supervision, frequently acting as the primary technical representative on-site.

  • Bridge Environments: Effectively collaborate across different security domains, translating operational needs from DOJ sensitive environments to our uncleared engineering teams. You will help influence product roadmaps.

  • Enable the Mission: Provide on-site enablement, technical integration support, and use‑case demonstrations within customer facilities around the country, including the greater DC metropolitan area.

  • Architect Complex Systems: Provide guidance on technical challenges ranging from high-level architecture to specific code implementation (Python/SQL).

  • Maintain Operational Access: Ensure consistent engagement with customer sensitive systems/locations to maintain active access and operational readiness.

  • Build Partnerships: Partner with Sales and Account teams to identify new business opportunities and expand our footprint within the DOJ and beyond.

We’re looking for candidates who have:
  • DOJ Experience: Proven experience working within the Department of Justice, with a firm understanding of the unique operational constraints of Law Enforcement sensitive work.

  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency and hands‑on experience with Python, SQL is highly desired.

  • Exceptional Communication: A mastery of "technical diplomacy"—the ability to listen actively, negotiate complex requirements, and convey technical concepts with empathy and integrity to DOJ stakeholders.

  • Independence: A self‑starter mindset with the ability to conduct client visits, perform deep-dive technical discovery, and manage projects from inception to completion with minimal supervision.

  • Geographic Availability: Should be based in the D.C. Metro area and comfortable with frequent on‑site visits around the country; frequent travel.

  • Generative AI: Experience with Generative AI such as leveraging LLMs, using retrieval augmented generation (RAG), API calls to LLMs/Gen AI providers, and structured AI prompting.

  • Active Security Clearance: Not required, though a current U.S. Government Secret clearance is desired; TS/SCI would be very helpful. Polygraph not required.

Nice to have:
  • Crypto Expertise: Understanding of cryptocurrency ecosystems (mining, DeFi, smart contracts, tracing).

  • Certifications: Specialized technical, finance, or security certifications such as AWS, Linux, Kubernetes, CAMS, CCAS, CGSS, or CFE.

  • Policy Knowledge: Familiarity with relevant government oversight policies, procedures, and security requirements.

  • Open Source: Experience with Open Source Intelligence (OSINT).

  • Development: Full‑stack development experience or a background in data science.
