Job description

We are seeking a senior-level Solutions Architect for a 6-month contract role, remote within the US (EST or CST time zone preferred). This position requires deep application development expertise and end-to-end solutions architecture experience working across technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Receive epic and feature assignments with general direction from train architect
• Partner with Product Owners, Business Analysts, and Development technical leads to refine and understand requirements
• Collaborate with Solution Domain Lead architects to seek guidance or vet solutions impacting other domains
• Work with integration architects to deliver solution artifacts including sketches, presentations, and technical documentation
• Continuously develop and refine business and systems subject matter expertise
• Identify and leverage established architecture patterns; create new patterns when addressing novel problems
• Present solution sketches and designs to stakeholders including architect teams, infrastructure specialists, and business leaders for review and feedback
• Engage directly with business customers to understand business needs and translate them into technical solutions
• Collaborate across all organizational functions including product, program management, development, and infrastructure teams

Qualifications

• Required
  • Senior-level Solutions Architect experience with a background in application development
  • Proven end-to-end solutions architecture experience working with all stakeholder groups including non-technical audiences
  • Architectural and technical expertise with cloud platforms, especially GCP and AWS (native services, cloud-agnostic solutions, container offerings)
  • Experience with cloud and SaaS systems integration
  • Demonstrable experience designing REST APIs that facilitate strong developer experience and simplify systems integration
  • Experience designing systems that leverage Kafka for messaging and streaming
  • Experience with both RDBMS and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB); understanding of benefits, trade-offs, normalization, denormalization, sharding, and other data-centric patterns
  • Experience designing and developing complex systems using disciplined and rigorous approaches
  • Strong skills in requirements analysis, estimation, systems design, application design, and testing
  • Familiarity with popular design patterns
  • Excellent collaboration, influencing, and consensus-building skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
  • Ability to facilitate meetings with stakeholders, partners, and team members
