**Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Senior Technical Architect to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals with our Strategy and Growth organization to support emerging programs. This leadership role is located in Melbourne, FL or El Segundo, CA. Remote/hybrid may be considered if there is ability to travel to participate in regular, on-site activities.**

We are looking for a highly skilled Competitive Assessment Technical Architect to join our NGAS Growth-Capture Support team. In this role, you will guide design studies and lead the technical scope of competitive assessments to inform critical program strategy decisions and shape proposals. Your analysis will contribute to our understanding of competitor win strategies and will be essential in supporting our pricing models to accurately reflect the competitive landscape. The ideal candidate will possess a strong blend of technical expertise and strategic thinking, able to effectively translate competitive insights into actionable strategies, and deliver targeted recommendations to our capture, division, and sector leadership teams.

**Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:**

+ Technical Competitive Analysis – Conduct competitive assessments for Aeronautics captures and campaigns, focusing on determining potential competitor platform capabilities and technical performance parameters. Architect potential competitor design solutions based on industry capabilities and limited available competitive intelligence.

+ Cross-functional collaboration – Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, business management, supply chain, and business development to synthesize, validate, and interpret data for competitive analysis

+ Leadership and Communication – Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership and stakeholders, articulating complex design approaches in a clear and compelling manner

**Basic Qualifications**

+ Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering or related technical field and 12 years experience (10 years experience with a master’s degree or 7 years experience with a PhD)

+ At least 5+ years experience (3+ years for relevant Master’s concentration) in aircraft conceptual design and development, inclusive of mass properties and aero/performance analysis as well as aircraft concept layout

+ Ability to work with and lead multidisciplinary engineering teams in a fast-paced environment

+ Excellent skills in data synthesis and senior level briefings

+ Strong understanding of current global military aircraft capabilities and trends

+ Active DoD Secret clearance

+ Ability to obtain and maintain special program access within a reasonable period of time as determined by the needs of the business

**Preferred Qualifications**

+ Technical depth in multiple disciplines, including aerodynamics, propulsion, mass properties, stability and control, vehicle performance, and military operational analysis

+ 3+ years engineering technical leadership experience for aircraft advanced development program(s)

+ Prior experience conducting competitive assessment analysis / black hat studies to support program capture and strategy development

+ Prior experience with U.S. government RFP or acquisition processes

+ Active Top-Secret clearance and SAP eligibility

+ Graduate degree in business or engineering

Salary ranges will be dependent upon where the position is based and follows our company geographic salary bands aligned with position. Specific salary offer for candidate selected will be commensurate with experience aligned with location specific salary bands.

Salary Range: $147,700.00 - $256,400.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
