Job summary

Dematic is seeking a Mechanical Engineer with conveyor and sortation experience to join the Solution Development team. You will estimate complete solutions for customers, read complex drawings, and develop ROM costing while collaborating with engineering and sales to drive successful outcomes.

Ideal candidates have 5–10 years of experience in automated material handling, strong communication skills, and proficiency in AutoCAD and 3D design tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5-10 years as a project engineer designing and commissioning automated material handling systems.
• Proven verbal and written communication skills.
• Background in Case, Tote, and Pallet conveyance and Sorter equipment.

Responsibilities

• Understand design of complex systems that integrate material handling equipment, electrical controls, programming and software to estimate mechanical equipment for customers.
• Read and comprehend mechanical drawings and follow up on technical details.
• Develop ROM costing and cost reviews for proposals.
• Lead, create and modify proposal drawings for estimating purposes.
• Provide estimates for semi-complex projects to the solution development team and account management.
• Collaborate with project stakeholders in concept, technical and cost reviews.
• Demonstrate familiarity with current Dematic products and engineering processes.
