Job summary

ServiceNow is seeking a Forward Deployment Engineer to operate at the intersection of engineering, product, and customer success. This field role focuses on hands-on deployment, troubleshooting, and driving real product outcomes inside customer environments.

You will deploy, configure, and optimize AppSec solutions, work with customer engineering teams, and ensure adoption from basic setup to advanced use cases.

Qualifications

• 4–8+ years in software engineering, DevOps or field engineering roles.
• Strong experience with AppSec concepts (SAST, DAST, APIs, vulnerabilities).
• Hands-on deployment, configuration and integration of AppSec solutions.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex issues in customer environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead hands-on deployment and integration of AppSec in customer environments.
• Collaborate with customer devs, engineers and security teams to operationalize the platform.
• Troubleshoot issues across stack, APIs, and infra to ensure success.
• Identify gaps, contribute fixes, and drive value for multiple customers.

• We are hiring a Forward Deployment Engineer (FDE) to operate at the intersection of engineering, product, and customer success. This is a field engineering role—not sales engineering—focused on hands‑on deployment, troubleshooting, and driving real product outcomes inside customer environments
• You will work directly with customer engineering teams to implement, configure, and optimize our Application Security (AppSec) solutions. Your mission is simple: make customers successful, remove friction, and ensure the product delivers real value in production
• Lead hands‑on deployment, configuration, and integration of AppSec solutions in customer environments
• Work directly with developers, engineering managers, and security teams to operationalize the platform
• Ensure customers move from initial setup to advanced use cases quickly
• Act as the front line for technical problem‑solving in real‑world environments
• Debug issues across infrastructure, APIs, and application layers
• Identify product gaps and, when needed, fix bugs or contribute code alongside engineering
• Drive successful outcomes across multiple customers simultaneously
• Keep high‑value customers engaged, productive, and expanding usage
• Partner closely with Customer Success on POVs, onboarding, and adoption strategies
• Gather real‑world usage insights and translate them into actionable product feedback
• Collaborate with engineering to improve usability, performance, and scalability
• Help make the product easier to deploy, configure, and operate
