Job summary

SFE seeks an experienced Enterprise/Solution Architect with 15–20 years of IT experience to lead architecture across complex, distributed systems and microservices. You will drive cloud-native design, high availability, DR, and scalable solutions while aligning with enterprise standards and business goals.

You will mentor teams, define deployment models, and oversee architecture reviews, ensuring robust security, data flow, and operational readiness across projects.

Qualifications

• 15–20 years of IT experience with substantial enterprise/solution architecture background.
• Strong knowledge of enterprise application architecture and modern distributed systems.
• Experience with microservices and event-driven architectures.
• Proficiency in cloud-native design, HA, DR, scalability, performance and resilience.

Responsibilities

• Define end-to-end solution architecture aligned with standards and business objectives.
• Create architecture diagrams, integration designs, data flows and deployment models.
• Lead architecture and design reviews with engineering, cybersecurity, data, and operations teams.
• Provide technical direction to development teams through design, implementation, testing and production support.
• Review designs for alignment with approved architecture and document trade-offs, risks and dependencies.
• Establish reusable patterns and engineering guidelines to promote consistency.
• Support effort estimation, planning, dependency management and release readiness.

Must Have Technical/Functional Skills

15 20 years of overall IT experience, including substantial experience in solution or enterprise architecture.

Strong knowledge of:

Enterprise application architecture

Distributed systems and microservices

Event-driven architecture

Cloud-native application design

High availability and disaster recovery

Scalability, performance, resilience, and fault tolerance

Ability to develop:

Solution architecture documents

High-level and low-level architecture diagrams

Integration and data-flow diagrams

Deployment architecture

Roles & Responsibilities

Work with business and technology stakeholders to understand functional, non-functional, security, compliance, and operational requirements.

Define end-to-end solution architecture aligned with enterprise standards and business objectives.

Evaluate solution alternatives and document recommendations, trade-offs, dependencies, assumptions, risks, and constraints.

Create architecture diagrams, integration designs, data flows, deployment models, and technology roadmaps.

Define application, integration, infrastructure, data, security, and operational architecture.

Ensure solutions meet requirements for scalability, performance, availability, resilience, maintainability, and security.

Lead architecture and design review sessions with engineering, infrastructure, cybersecurity, data, and operations teams.

Provide technical direction to development teams throughout design, implementation, testing, deployment, and production support.

Review technical designs and implementation approaches for alignment with the approved architecture.

Identify architecture risks and technical debt and recommend mitigation or remediation actions.

Establish reusable patterns, technology standards, and engineering guidelines.

Support effort estimation, implementation planning, dependency management, and release-readiness activities.

Collaborate with cybersecurity and risk teams to incorporate required controls into the solution.

Support proofs of concept and technology evaluations when required.

Review vendor or third-party solutions for technical fit, security, integration, scalability, and operational supportability.

Participate in production-readiness reviews and provide guidance for monitoring, incident management, capacity planning, and disaster recovery.

Communicate architecture decisions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Mentor technical leads, developers, and other architects while promoting consistent engineering practices
