Job summary

Konik seeks a SolidWorks Mechanical Designer // Drafter in Princeton, MN to join the drafting team. Direct Hire or Contract-to-Hire with $30–$40/hour, depending on experience.

You will create 3D models, production drawings, and technical documentation for fabricated components and assemblies, collaborating closely with engineering and manufacturing to ensure manufacturability. The ideal candidate has 2+ years SolidWorks drafting experience, sheet metal and weldment knowledge, and strong

Qualifications

• 2+ years SolidWorks drafting or mechanical design experience.
• Experience creating manufacturing drawings and working with fabricated components.
• Strong understanding of sheet metal design, stainless steel fabrication, weldments preferred.
• Ability to interpret mechanical drawings and understand fabrication processes.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Create and revise 3D SolidWorks models, assemblies, and detailed manufacturing drawings.
• Develop production-ready drawings for sheet metal, stainless steel, weldments, fabricated components, and mechanical equipment.
• Translate engineering concepts and specifications into accurate technical documentation.
• Prepare and maintain drawings, dimensions, tolerances, bills of materials, and assembly details.
• Collaborate with engineering, fabrication, and production teams to resolve design questions and improve manufacturability.
• Support design updates, revisions, and equipment modifications throughout the product lifecycle.
• Assist with custom equipment design projects from concept through production release.
