Job summary

Employee Workplace in Columbia, MD is seeking a SolidWorks Designer to join our on-site engineering team. You will create detailed 3D CAD models, develop 2D production drawings, and revise documentation to reflect design changes, collaborating with engineers to meet quality standards.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with SolidWorks (and CREO is a plus), strong GD&T knowledge, and the ability to read complex mechanical blueprints while adhering to ANSI/MIL-STD standards.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in drafting/design technology or related field preferred.
• SolidWorks and/or CREO experience is required.
• Strong knowledge of GD&T and engineering drawing standards.
• Ability to read and interpret complex mechanical blueprints and specs.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed 3D CAD models from concepts, sketches and specs.
• Develop accurate 2D production, fabrication and assembly drawings.
• Update and revise existing drawings based on design changes.
• Ensure drawings/models meet quality, tolerances, and company standards.
• Collaborate with engineers to support product development and resolve design challenges.
• Maintain organized design files and technical documentation.
• Support engineering teams with drafting and design-related projects.

Pay Rate: $30.00 - $37.00/hour
Schedule: Monday - Friday

Education Requirements

• Associate degree in Drafting, Design Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or related field preferred

Experience Requirements

• Experience using SolidWorks and/or CREO for 3D modeling and drafting
• Strong knowledge of GD&T and engineering drawing standards
• Ability to read and interpret complex mechanical blueprints
• Understanding of manufacturing processes, tolerances, and technical documentation
• Experience working with ANSI and MIL-STD standards is a plus
