Job summary

Bentley Mission Critical in Greeley, Colorado seeks a seasoned 3D Designer - SolidWorks to develop production-ready models, assemblies, and fabrication drawings for modular data center products. You will translate customer requirements into accurate SolidWorks models built for Lean manufacturing and one-piece flow on the shop floor.

The role emphasizes DFM, collaboration with fabrication teams, and maintaining a reusable parts library. Fluency in English and portfolio required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of SolidWorks 3D design experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
• Engineering degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering or related field, or equivalent engineering experience.
• Advanced SolidWorks proficiency: parts, large assemblies, weldments, sheet metal, configurations, and detailed drawings.
• Portfolio of SolidWorks projects required with application.
• Strong Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFM/DFA) knowledge — models that can be fabricated.
• Lean Manufacturing knowledge with a strong one-piece flow mentality.
• Proven ability to read, interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.
• Fluent in English, written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed 3D part models, large assemblies, and weldments in SolidWorks for modular data center structures and related components.
• Build top-level and sub-level assemblies that accurately represent the complete data center product for fabrication, assembly and installation.
• Produce fabrication-ready drawings including dimensions, tolerances, GD&T, weld symbols, BOMs and cut lists.
• Maintain clean model structure, file naming, configurations, and revision control per department standards.
• Develop and maintain a library of standard parts, templates, and reusable design components.
• Design sheet metal, structural steel, and welded components with correct bend allowances and hole patterns.
• Reduce part count, material waste, cutting time, welding time, and assembly complexity.
• Standardize components across projects; work with fabrication teams to resolve build issues.
