Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Design Engineer in Fresno for a permanent, fully onsite role. You will design, optimize, and implement mechanical components and systems from concept to production, leveraging SolidWorks and DFx practices.

You will collaborate with operations and other stakeholders to define requirements, drive productivity, and ensure manufacturability. You will apply Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to reduce waste and enhance quality, while managing multiple projects and delivering

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Design custom mechanical components, assemblies, and equipment based on project requirements.
• Develop and optimize manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, quality, and safety.
• Create and modify 3D models and engineering drawings using SolidWorks.
• Design and integrate mechanical and fluid power systems into larger equipment assemblies.
• Collaborate with operations, production, and stakeholders to define requirements and develop engineering solutions.
• Support projects from concept through manufacturing, including design reviews and production readiness activities.
• Apply Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Troubleshoot manufacturing and mechanical issues and implement corrective actions.
• Coordinate with machining, fabrication, and production teams to ensure designs are manufacturable and cost-effective.
• Manage engineering deliverables and project timelines.
• Identify opportunities to improve throughput, reduce waste, and enhance product quality.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable engineering standards and best practices.
