Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to design and develop manufacturing equipment, tooling, fixtures, and automated systems. You will work from concept through installation, testing, and production support, creating detailed CAD models and drawings while applying GD&T principles.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of mechanical design experience, strong CAD skills (CATIA/NX/Creo/SolidWorks), and a track record in manufacturing environments. Onsite Redmond, WA; contract-to-hire.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 5+ years in mechanical design or related fields.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD software (CATIA/NX/Creo/SolidWorks).
• Experience interpreting mechanical and electrical documentation and GD&T.
• Experience in manufacturing environments and design for manufacturability.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical systems, tooling, fixtures, and industrial equipment.
• Create and modify 3D models, drawings, and assemblies.
• Support projects from concept to production implementation.
• Perform engineering calculations and basic structural analysis.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project success.
• Support prototype builds, testing, commissioning.
• Manage documentation and design changes.
• Provide technical support to manufacturing and suppliers.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of design processes.
