Job summary

Energy Jobline ZR in Milwaukee, WI, seeks a Mechanical Design Engineer to design sheetmetal enclosures and weldments. You will layout designs for quotations and orders, ensure shop practices meet design requirements, and drive productivity improvements on the shop floor. The role supports new product development and cross‑functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering/Design or related field.
• Strong SOLIDWORKS skills and experience.
• Experience with ERP systems and PDM is desirable.
• Sheet-metal and weldment design experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Layout and design to support quotations, orders and manufacturing projects.
• Ensure that standard shop practices and capabilities meet the design requirements and are reflected in designs and drawings.
• Play a key role in manufacturing and productivity improvements.
• Solve manufacturing and assembly issues on the shop floor, both for short term and long term solutions.
• Assist to launch new product development.
• Conduct reviews of jobs released to the floor.
• Work towards continuous improvements for cost reductions and quality improvements.
• Work with quality, purchasing, assembly, and design staff to ensure efficiency.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Layout and design to support of quotations, orders and manufacturing projects
• Ensure that standard shop practices and capabilities meet the design requirements and are reflected in designs and drawings
• Play a key role in manufacturing and productivity improvements
• Solve manufacturing and assembly issues on the shop floor, both for short term and long term solutions
• Assist to launch new product development

• Work towards continuous improvements for cost reductions and quality improvements
• Work with quality, purchasing, assembly, and design staff to ensure efficiency

Desired Skills

• High level of SOLIDWORKS Proficiency
• Knowledge in an ERP system along with PDM experience
• Experience in sheet-metal & weldment design is desired
• Familiarity with manufacturing processesand able to work with changing priorities
• Hands on individual who can work from concept through implementation
