Job summary

AppleOne Employment Services is seeking a detail-oriented CAD Drafter skilled in SolidWorks and AutoCAD to create precise 2D drawings and 3D models for mechanical systems and product designs. You will support design documentation, ensure manufacturability, and maintain file organization with version control.

The ideal candidate has strong GD&T knowledge, experience with PDM software, and excellent technical writing abilities to produce clear CAD documentation.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in mechanical drafting with 2D CAD drafting and 3D modeling for product design or system layout.
• Demonstrated ability to use CAD software such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
• Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, GD&T standards, and system design processes.
• Experience working with PDM software for file management; ability to organize complex project data efficiently.
• Excellent attention to detail with strong technical writing skills; able to produce clear CAD documentation.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed 2D drawings, schematics, and assembly instructions using CAD software such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks
• Create accurate 3D models for product design and system layout
• Collaborate with engineers to interpret design concepts into precise CAD documentation
• Review CAD models and drawings for accuracy, completeness, and manufacturability; incorporate feedback to refine designs
• Maintain organized CAD files with version control and proper documentation practices
• Produce technical reports and documentation to support design activities
• Participate in assembly modeling and visualization tasks including 2D animations for reviews
