The primary purpose of the Solid Waste & Recycling Collections CDL Driver, Vehicle Equipment Operator – Advanced, position is to provide skilled operation and maintenance of large vehicles and equipment required to complete routinely scheduled and emergency operations managed by Facilities Services.
North Carolina State University owns and operates a fleet of front-end loading collection trucks to service landfill, recycling and compost dumpsters on campus. Drivers are responsible for the safe operation of front-end loading trucks and efficient service to campus customers along assigned routes. Drivers deliver collected materials to disposal and recycling facilities and perform basic maintenance on equipment. Drivers ensure all safety standards and regulations are met. This position will join a team of dynamic professional drivers in a rewarding and balanced work environment and play a key role in helping the University reach our goal of 70% waste diversion from landfills.
Key responsibilities and duties include but not limited to:
Demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.
Requires appropriate licenses or certifications to operate assigned types of vehicles or equipment.
