Job summary

The City of Savannah is seeking a Sanitation Supervisor to oversee the Street Cleaning Division and daily sanitation operations. You will supervise staff, assign crews, monitor performance, and ensure adherence to city codes.

The role also involves coordinating schedules and providing guidance to maintain service quality. Requirements include an Associate Degree with four years of supervisory experience in code enforcement, solid waste, or public works, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Minimum four years of supervisory experience in code enforcement, solid waste management, or public works.
• Valid state driver's license with acceptable driving history.
• Class B CDL license preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Supervises, directs, and monitors daily Sanitation Department operations including refuse collections and street cleaning.
• Directs staff, assigns routes, reviews work, and conducts performance appraisals.
• Coordinates schedules, maintains standards, and provides guidance on procedures.
• May supervise sanitation code enforcement and inspect properties for compliance.
• Oversees field training of new enforcement personnel and ensures public safety.
