Summary

The City of Waco seeks an individual to perform heavy manual labor tasks at the City of Waco landfill.

Minimum Qualifications

• Driver's License
• 1 year experience in laborer work

Preferred

• H.S. Diploma or GED equivalent

Position Overview

Under basic supervision, performs unskilled and heavy manual labor tasks associated with landfill and transfer station disposal operations.

Essential Functions

• Performs litter collection, landscape, and landfill and transfer station maintenance.
• Constructs, repairs, and installs landfill and transfer station litter fences.
• Assists in loading and unloading vehicles and directing customers to designated disposal areas.
• Explains procedures and regulations to customers at the landfill transfer station.
• Assists mechanics with basic tasks as required.
• Cleans, maintains, and manages basic tools.
• Operates light trucks and equipment (mowers, weed eaters, chainsaws, sprayers).
• Obtains daily fuel tank readings.
• Coordinates temporary laborers for litter collection.
• Responds afterhours, including holidays and weekends, during emergencies.
