Job summary

City of Prescott is seeking an Equipment Operator in the Solid Waste Division of the Public Works Department. The role covers operating side-load, front-load, and roll-off refuse vehicles, and supporting transfer station activities. A valid Class B CDL is required and overtime hours may apply.

Candidate must have a High School diploma or equivalent, and prior heavy equipment experience is preferred. The City provides comprehensive benefits and a defined pay range.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience operating heavy or motorized equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operates refuse collection vehicles and related equipment.
• Perform routine maintenance and basic repairs on vehicles and equipment.
• Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
• Maintain and service refuse containers on routes.
• Assist with transfer station and yard maintenance per regulations.
• Support setup and cleanup of special events.
