Job summary

Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. seeks a Solid Waste Engineer – Assistant Project Manager in Pittsburgh to support waste facility projects from planning through final certification.

You will supervise engineering tasks, mentor staff, and collaborate with clients and regulators. The role offers growth toward project management, client relations, and budgeting, with a flexible/hybrid work schedule and a broad benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field required.
• 4+ years of professional engineering experience.
• PE license preferred or pursuit planned soon.
• Experience with HELP Model, HydroCAD, Slide, KYPipe, AutoCAD Civil 3D is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects through planning, design, permitting, construction administration and final certification.
• Design and review stormwater management systems, leachate management, and landfill gas collection systems.
• Perform geotechnical analyses and prepare landfill grading plans, construction drawings, and specs.
• Support project management, budgeting, scheduling, and staff development.
• Interact with clients, contractors, and regulatory officials to ensure quality of work.
